You need carbs for energy. If you do not have enough you could end up using muscle for the energy. The secret is to know how much to take. You do this with trial and error. There are loads of protein shakes that have little or no carbs in them. Weight gainers are the main ones with carbs in them. Baz

It took me about 1 year and a half. But I've now gained about quite a few lbs of muscles :) Take it slow. Weight loss is a slow process and should be taken that way.
