p.s try it, pick a muscle group, drop the weight down to a point were you can hold your frame steady and then lift the weight to upright position, squeeze, then lower at resistance all the way and repeat without relaxing for 8-12 without relaxing... do that and you will fuck that muscle up, it will feal like its going to explode. Compounds are handy, I do them for my legs but the upper body requires targeted work for each muscle and each seperation to make everything pop.

The picture I see is from your thumbnail. Great, if that works for you then fine. But it a long life brother, you have to ask yourself are you planning on doing this for 5, 10 20 years or for life. I see people grinding away with the big weights and I think they are waisting their time and their joints. The way I train its safe, it makes you fitter and it makes the muscle groups pop out... in my humble opinion. Respect.

take a look at my pictures, i by no means have the heavy powerlifter look to me at all, i dont call my self a bodybuilder because i dont comptete, but i have been told by many people that i should, i still have a 6 pack and 17 inch arms, which look bigger than most peoples 20 inch arms because of my shoulders, im not being cocky, im just saying that my training has got me to look the way i do now

+ I have always got plenty of mass from training for resistence, my arms easily sit at 18 inches cold which is about as big as a lean guy of 5'7 who takes nothing not even creatine is going to get (more or less), and I do this without hammering my joints with excess weight. 25 years of lifting and I have zero injuries because I hammer the muscle, not the joints.

suppose it depends on what you are aiming for. I dont like the big stalky look, 1984 - rambo 2 is to me the ultimate look. I want to look lean and strong so I avoid big heavy back excersises and I limit the weight I put on my chest. Being lean and hard is to me more important than anything so tension for 8-12 or even 17 reps is key, and I always train for the pump, the aim is by the second set. Like you I go high rep in set no.1 to get the juices flowing.

i have always trained extremely heavy and have achieved results from doing so, though i do incorporate high rep training as a warm up and the last of each excercise i do, but putting on mass requires heavy training, its a rule that has been around for ever

I have noticed that. I am 40 and have been training since I was 15 all natural. I always train for the pump I dont understand any other way to do it also I train for resistance not extream weight which I think is dumb. So no I have to disagree with much of what you say.

The difference between training with steroids and training naturally is that when you are juicing, your goal in the gym is to achieve the greatest pump, rather then lift a ton of weight, as for natural bodybuilding, your goal in the gym should be to lift as much weight as possible and not do a whole bunch of reps that may achieve that pump, if u notice there are huge guys in the gym that are juicing but not really lifting much weight, and then you have smaller guys that r lifting more weight
