        <title>Best Chest Workout Weight Training Exercises</title>
        <description><![CDATA[<div id="description">www.LeeHayward.com It's Lee Hayward here with a complete chest and shoulder weight training workout routine. Hardly a day goes by that I don't get at least one e-mail from someone asking how they can build a big muscular chest. Well in this video clip I'm going to share one of my all time favourite chest workouts for fast muscle gains. I like to start my chest workouts with a big basic compound power exercise. Usually some form of the bench press. In this video I'm doing the barbell bench press but I'll sometimes use dumbbells or incline bench presses instead. When doing bench presses make sure to set up properly by expanding your chest, arching your upper back, and pulling your shoulder blades back. This will help to fully activate the chest muscles and place less strain on the shoulder joints. It's also a good idea to have a spotter with you at all times just in case you need help lifting the barbell off your chest. The next exercise that I like to do is the dumbbell flye. This exercise works the chest in the fully stretched position. I don't use heavy weights here, but rather I emphasize getting a full stretch in the pecs. I even hold the weights for a second at the bottom position to get a better stretch. You'll also notice that I only lift the dumbbells about ¾ of the way up. Going all the way up just takes the stress off the chest muscles. In the video I'm doing incline bench flyes. The key to adding mass to the arms, as well as any other area of the body, is to train to positive failure no matter what rep scheme a person is using. For example, if a person is using a weight that he/she can only do for 12 reps, then the 13th rep should be impossible to complete without help from a spotter. That is positive failure; when you cannot complete the positive part of the rep without assistance. Typically, I like to keep my repetition range from 5-12 but I will occasionally do some high rep sets, 15 or more reps, so that I may stimulate as many muscle fibers as possible. It's a compound exercise because it also works out your shoulders, your back, and arms. You also use your legs to stabilize yourself. Warm up good and get your blood flowing before lifting heavy to prevent injuries since there's different muscle groups involved. I also do the barbell on some days but I'm showing you guys dumbbell workouts and typical machines most gyms will have. You will have to balance the dumbbell more than barbell which will build more on your wrist/ forearms. It will help you lift the bar easier. Also you wont need a spotter as you would need for the barbell to use heavier weights. Anyways its 100 degrees in this gym and there's no air conditioning so it's hard to lift here. lol Couple things to remember: Flat dumbbell press - Start off light since it's the beginning of the workout and increase gradually. -Keep your feet on the ground and spread out to maintain balance. - Place the dumb bell closer to your body so when you roll back you're ready to push the weight upright. -Try to go low as you can - If you want to target more on your chest; don't fully extend your bench as it will work out more on your triceps. This will also help if you're going heavier and if your muscles give out you can always drop the dumbbell to the side.
