In this episode I want to show you a KILLER home chest workout you can do at home in just a few minutes. It's a great way to build a muscular chest -- and all you'll need is a couple of dumbbells to do it. The way it works is by using different chest exercises to hit your chest in different ways, one right after another. I designed this workout to really burn your chest out fast, and you're really going to be feeling it in your pecs after this workout. Here's how it's done. CLOSE GRIP DUMBBELL PRESS PULLOVER - 10 REPS. Hold the dumbbells close together (touching each other) and bring them down to your chest. Press them upwards, and then bring them behind your head for the pullover. Bring the dumbbells down as far as you can, and then pull them back up focusing on contracting your chest muscles during this movement. DUMBBELL CHEST PRESS - 10 REPS. Just like bench press, except with dumbbells. Use a heavier weight than the first exercise. Since this is a drop-set, be especially careful not to bring the weights down too far -- you shouldn't feel a &amp;quot;stretch&amp;quot; in your chest muscles. Most people should go down to about 90 degrees, but advanced guys who are more flexible PUSHUPS - 10 REPS. By this time your chest will be BURNT, but stay strong! Do your pushups are normal. There are two types of chest exercises, pushing exercisees (like bench press and pushups) and squeezing exercises (like pec deck and dumbbell flys). You need to do both to maximize your chest development. For me personally, the squeezing chest exercises have given me much better mass and strength gains than the pushing type exerciess. The king of the squeezing exercises is the dumbbell fly and its easy to do at home with just a used set of dumbbells. Heres how you do it. lay on floor together) knees up, abs flexed (lower back support) shoulder back, shoulder blades together arms perpendicular to sides elbows slightly bent go sloooooly up and slooooowly down flex you chest at top of rep Warning straight armed is much more difficlut than elbows bent because of leverage. Decrease your weight till you can do these with your arms almost straight. Many times you will see people doing WAY more than they should and they do them like this (demo). No, use less weight. Why? Because then you can spot yourself. At about rep 6 when you cant do another straight armed one, bend your elbows slightly. This increases your leverage and makes it easier on your pecs, now you can do 2 or 3 more. When you cant do any more reps, bend your elbows a bit more. This way, you can do forced reps safely. Many people find it hard to feel their lats working when doing back workouts. However, this move is super strict and totally eliminates body momentum. It's easier to develop that mind muscle connection and feel your lats contract with each rep, especially when you pause and hold the peak contraction position at the top of each rep. Do this either as a pre-exhaust move before your back workout, or at the end as a finishing exercise. Keep the weights moderate and perform higher volume. I recommend doing 5 sets of 10-12 reps to really work the back hard. This variation of the basic dumbbell press is a great mass builder also, just another twist to keep your muscles guessing. If you dont have an incline bench you can make one by securely tying a 2x8 to a coffeetable as I have done here. This exercise is best done with a spotter. If you are working out alone, use lighter weight and higer reps for safety. As withany dumbbell exercise, form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don't use too much weight, if you can't do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud &amp;quot;one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand&amp;quot; on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise. Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn't have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.         <description><![CDATA[<div id="description">I love sqeezing exercises for chest as most of my results in chest mass and strength have come from this type exercise. I have covered the basic dumbbell fly in a previous video and here I have a cool variant that you do on an incline bench (or a board leaning against a wall). For this incline fly use a light weight, approximately 20% of what you use for incline dumbbell press. In this exercise we keep the arms straight but not locked and the arms are not perpendicular to our sides like in a normal fly, are not alongside our legs, but halfway inbetween. The palms are facing up at a 45 degree angle.Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn't have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. You can't neglect training the upper back because it is one of the hot zones of fat burning in your body. Since there is so much muscle mass found in your upper back, you can really burn a lot of calories by training that area. However, a lot of people have problems training that area at home because they dont have access to a chin-up bar or an adjustable bar where they can do inverted bodyweight rows lying on the ground. So, this leaves us with a bench, dumbbells, and a ball. Fortunately, there are still quite a few different exercises we can do that will add variation to our workouts and help us enjoy them a lot more. The first exercise is the Dumbbell Pullover and it is going to train your abs, chest, and your lats. This exercise is a classic Arnold Era exercise. However, it is important to be conservative when performing this one, as you can really injure yourself if you try to do too much weight. There are a couple of different ways to do this exercise. One way is to do it lying regularly on a bench. Hold the dumbbell over your chest with a slight bend in your arms, and lowering the DB back over your head. You will begin to feel a stretch and using your lats, pull the DB back up over your chest. As the DB gets closer to your chest, then the chest muscles begin to do most of the work. So what we're going to do in this workout is target all the exercises for the upper pecs with incline dumbbell bench press, incline dumbbell flys, low pulley cable crossover flys, and push ups with the feet elevated. All of these exercises will place the workload on the upper pecs to help fill out and build muscle in the top of the chest. In addition to that, because we are using dumbbells and cables for our exercises, each side of the chest will receive an equal workload. Sometimes when you do barbell or machine exercises the stronger side can over compensate for the weaker side. However, when you do dumbbell exercises both sides are forced to perform the exact same amount of work and thus help create equal development over the long term.         <description><![CDATA[<div id="description">www.leehaywardmuscle.com http This is a tricep workout that myself and Vince DelMonte did while working out on vacation in Las Vegas. The small hotel gym we were training at had a limited amount of equipment (ie an adjustable bench, dumbbell rack, and some resistance machines). So this entire tricep workout is done using just dumbbell exercises only. We used the Positions Of Flexion style of training which starts with a mid-range compound exercise (rolling db extensions), then goes into a fully streched exercise (overhead db extenstions), and finishes up with a peak contraction exercise (db tricep kick backs). Big gyms are nice but when you can get a killer workout at home without the overhead of getting to and from the gym. In this chest workout we are going to do pushups, then with no rest immediately do flys, then with no rest immediately do dumbbell press. Make sure and use a much lighter weight than you usually would on the flys and dumbbell press because after the pushups you wont have much left in you. After doing this set of three exercises, wait 2-5 minutes and do it again. Do 5-8 sets like this and you will be sore the next day. As with all dumbbell exercises,form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don't use too much weight, if you can't do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud &amp;quot;one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand&amp;quot; on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise. Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Dumbbell Row Variations and a Plataeu Shattering Exercise Row Pyramid Set - The row pyramid is only performed for one set, as it is a high volume exercise. Example pyramid (this is a single arm exercise, perform the reps with BOTH arms individually and then move on) - 2 reps x 100 lbs, 4 reps x 95 lbs, 6 reps x 90 lbs, 8 reps x 85 lbs, 10 reps x 80 lbs, 8 reps x 85 lbs, 6 reps x 90 lbs, 4 reps x 95 lbs, 2 reps x 100 lbs.
